In sport, as in life, there is a first time for everything. On Sunday, the Rollers recorded three in one day en route to a famous six-wicket victory over Somerset West.

Rollers vs Somerset West

The Rollers face Somerset West on Sunday at Radloff Park, with the game starting at 12 sharp.

The team to do duty is Hannes Engelbrecht (c), Neville Cooper (vc), Ryan Cooper, Hannes Moore, Hannes Carlson, Nicky Rheeder, Nico Rheeder, Louis Pretorius, Jacques Laubscher, Andrew Young and Brett Gradwell.

Brett will be making his debut, so remember to prepare for stumps.

Nicky Rheeder owes us a fighter pilot helmet.

We’ve all heard the cricketing expressions ‘the tail wags’ and ‘catches win matches’, and that was never truer than this past Sunday against Scorpions, who handed the Rollers their first defeat of the 2011/12 season.

The Rollers’ reign as Wellington Sixes champions came to an early end on Saturday following a semifinal defeat in the ridiculously hot cauldron that is this small Boland town.
